Well, have you seen one? I am merely responding to popular belief. There are no boats but they keep claiming there are. Any people to the UK come into the airports, others smuggle themselves in lorries.

Child among five migrants dead and 47 rescued in English Channel hours after Rwanda bill passed
‘A local official said more than 50 people onboard the small boat continued their journey toward England following the disaster’.

Missed you Smudge.
Defence has evolved.
Nuclear deterrent cannot stand alone.
Hostile countries now have the capability to attack by drone and long(er)
range missiles.

Remeber growing up with the Cold War threat every day, When the Wind Blows cartoon shown in school.
I remeber ICBM missiles being portable in the 1980's so nothing has changed.
Just people have forgot every part of the UK was only 4 min max from a neuclear strike.
Subs in the Atlantic, North Sea.

The IRA Knew how to try to scare the UK but...
The problem GB has now is it seems so devided, Cultures not merging and deffinetly not willing to. At least this is how it looks from NZ.

Then Nuclear was a deterrent.
Worked so well no Country would use thank fully.
The new deterrent is diplomacy with regional States and allied basis
forming a protection system.
We are still open to posturing and threats to target our seats of power and Nuclear sites.Really scary!

Nuclear is no longer the deterrent it was in the days when there were only 4 or 5 countries that had the capability but now Israel, Iran, Pakistan, China, India and N Korea have it. Defence has evolved but not fast enough, it may be sufficient against conventional medium and long range weapons but many short range missiles get through, the new generation of hypersonic missiles currently don't seem to have an answer, load a nuke onto one of those and we are in trouble until the lasers come along.
Drones are a very cheap weapon to use, you don't even need to arm them just send a few dozen in the direction of the enemy and watch them expend tens of millions quids worth of missiles shooting them down.
